Services

Annual Maintenance: Recommended to keep the instrument in the best working condition and avoid any surprises, this service includes disassembly, cleaning and lubrication of the mechanism; cleaning and hand-polishing of keys; cleaning and oiling of the wood; pad and mechanism adjustments; change of individual pads or corks as needed. Individual pads and tenon corks when changed are charged separately. Time required: 5 business days

Oil and Adjust (OA): If you do not need a full Overhaul or annual maintenance, an OA will take care of any minor issues or emergencies to keep your instrument playing its best. This service includes only pad and mechanism adjustment. Replacement of pads or tenon corks will be charged separately. The cost of adjustments is based on the time needed for the repairs and can often be done while you wait. When any pads are changed, it is recommended to leave the instrument with us for one or two days for better adjustment stability. Time required: 1-2 business days

Overhaul (OH): A more extensive work, an Overhaul includes replacement of all pads, felts and corks; replacement of springs as needed; mechanical repairs including removal of unwanted movements; correction of any tonehole defects; cleaning and high polishing of keys; cleaning and lubrication of the mechanism; cleaning and oiling of the wood; complete adjustment of pads and mechanism. Time required: 2-3 weeks

Repairs

Other repairs available include changing individual pads, felts, corks, or springs; crack repair (filling, pinning or carbon fiber bands); tonehole or tenon replacement; replacement of screws or rods; solder repair and mechanical repairs; custom keywork (extensions, etc.).
